Replacing your boiler

Whether you need a regular boiler, a combi boiler, or would like to make the switch from a regular system to a combi, Norfolk Boilers have you covered.

Swapping from a regular boiler to a combi is slightly more expensive due to the extra labour involved whilst removing the hot water cylinder and reconfiguring the system pipework. A Combi Boiler will also require a 22mm gas supply.

Heat only boilers, also known as regular boilers, heat your home very efficiently. The heat only boiler uses a storage cistern with two feeds one for hot water and one for cold water. Then the water is pumped through the system to which will either be heated up or stored as hot water and then used as and when is needed. Also the hot water feed will be pumped around your home to keep it warm.

Heat only boilers are known as regular boilers because it is the conventional way of heating your home. Heat only boilers are good for larger homes. The reason being is because they don’t rely on pressure and supplies consistent hot water throughout the premises.

Combi boilers are more efficient than older appliances. Your old boiler will use far more gas due to its design and general wear and tear after long time usage. Boilers over 10 years old are almost certain to have less efficiency than the new combi boilers available today.

With a Combi Boiler, hot water is on demand meaning there's no need for hot water cylinder, saving valuable space. They also require TRV's to be installed on all radiators.
